JEAN CASE

CEO, Case Impact Network

Chairman, National Geographic Society

Jean Case is the founder of For What It’s Worth, Chairman of National Geographic Society and CEO of Case Impact Network and Case Foundation. She is a businesswoman, investor, Internet and impact investing trailblazer and philanthropist who is a passionate believer in the power of business and capital to be powerful forces for good. For What It’s Worth (FWIW) brings Jean’s ESG and impact investing expertise and insights to investors at any stage of their journey, and represents a continuation of her commitment to innovate and bring about transformational breakthroughs.

A long-time investor and champion of investing for impact, Jean helped set the stage for the explosion of ESG investing as an advisor to the G7 Social Impact Investing Task Force, achieving critical policy changes along the way. And in the earliest days of impact investing, her leadership at the Case Foundation spread the message with the influential and widely circulated Short Guide to Impact Investing. This, combined with the Case Foundation ten-year research effort to measure and report on attitudes and behaviors of millennials toward social good, provided Jean with a unique perspective on both the growth of interest in investing for social good and the impact millennials would have on our thinking about the opportunities available to invest in both profit and purpose.

Jean’s work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and she has appeared on CNBC, CNN, CBS, FOX and PBS NewsHour. She is a regular contributor to Forbes, Business Insider, and Fast Company. Jean’s national bestseller, Be Fearless: Five Principles for a Life of Breakthroughs and Purpose, shares vivid stories about world-changing founders and companies to highlight proven principles that drive innovation.

Jean has served on advisory boards at Harvard, Stanford and Georgetown. She serves as a regular guest lecturer at academic institutions across the nation, bringing her expertise in impact investing and ESG to the next generation. She founded FWIW so more people from more places can access the resources, news, and tools they need to confidently invest for the world they want and looks forward to hearing stories from your journey to investing for impact.
